As per your complain pain in ear with dried blood on the cleaning tip with a recent medical history of having cold is indicating towards ear infection that is common during or post a bout of severe cold.. Nothing to worry as it can very well get resolved with medication.. I would suggest you to consult an ENT expert/ Otorhinolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do an otoscopic examination of ear.. You can be advised a course of antibiotic and analgesic ear drops along with a course of oral antibiotics and painkillers for faster relief.. Decongestant ear nasal drops will also be advised.. Along with it you should avoid excessive water exposure to ear like during swimming and also avoid picking or cleaning the ear deeply as it can cause injuries to the eardrum.. Hope this helps..
