I am a 76 yr old female who suffers with anxiety. I am currently taking fluoxetine--have been for couple of years 20 mg. Have also been on a couple of other meds for the anxiety which didn t seem to help. About a month ago my primary doctor suggested we try Valium 5 mg twice a day and a 3rd if necessary. I never took 3 but 2 a day which seemed to help the chronic physical symptoms immensely as well as my sleeping better at night. After about a week I began to experience some sluggishness and slight unsteadiness on my feet. I cut the dosage back to 1/2 pill morning & night. That did help and continued to ease the anxiety. BUT I still do have some occasional wobbliness and sleepiness which is not common for me prior to the Valium.
