I have been taking atenolol for my blood pressure for the last 15 years and now I am experiencing severe dizziness . the doctor thinks it may be my medicine I take for my bp. do u have any suggestions as to what I could take that will not do that?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Dizziness is one of atenolol side effects. You must see your heart rate and blood pressure, if it is to low, smaller doses must be taken, or if heart rate is ok than talk to your cardiologyst to have another drug to treat high blood pressure such as enalapril etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
