What Causes Distorted Peripheral Vision?

I am experiencing peripheral vision quivering when I read looking downward. When I raise my head it stops. I have seen my ophthalmologist who found no abnormality and have seen my GP who considered it migraine. I am concerned about the fact that it stops when head is raised; that makes it seem otherwise.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It causes distorted peripheral vision or tunnel vision. Field tracing is to be done if the abnormality is detected, then consult the endocrinologist and take his advice, it is not the migraine, IOT is done and if glaucoma is detected, then they are to be treated with Atenolol drop and tablet diam-ox can be taken or surgery like trabeculectomy can be done.

Muscular function is to be done and cover test to be also done. If phoria be detected, then it is to be corrected. After control of glaucoma, everything will be alright.

Consult an eye doctor for detail examination. If squint is detected and age is below nine years, then cosmetic correction can be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
