HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The shooting pain that is occurring in your upper limb sounds as though it is related to the nervous symptoms.

Nerve related pain is called neuralgia and it can be temporary or permanent.

There are different causes but the most common causes would be: (1)vitamin b12 or folate deficiency
(2) diabetes
(3) trauma eg arthritis of the neck or shoulder would affect the arms , foreams and hands
(4)liver or kidney disease
(5)side effect of medication
(6)abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(7)thyroid disease
(8)stroke, ms-- nerve related diseases
(9)exposure to toxins

If the pain continues, then it would be best for you to be assessed by your doctor.
This would include physical examination and blood tests.

Imaging of the neck and shoulder may also be needed as well depending on the history and physical examination findings.

Treatment would depend on the cause found.

I hope this helps
