What Causes Discomfort In My Ribs When Inhaling?

I am getting a strange sensation just near the bottom of my ribcage on the right hand side when I breathe in. It only occurs when I'm in certain positions and happens most frequently (every time I breathe) when I am lying on my right hand side. The sensation is difficult to describe, it is almost as if something inside is stretching slightly or pushing against something. It is not painful but definitely something I have never felt before.
