Hello, I'm a 27 year old male in excellent health. I'm 5'7", weigh 127 lbs., and have a healthy BMI of 20. I'm an avid bike rider and runner, so I'm not concerned too much about my weight. It just runs in the family. Had my thyroid tested and it came back clear. Moving on . . . Recently I've had a hard time with bowel movements. I don't know what's going on because I still feel healthy, lots of energy, and staying active, but I just can't seem to poop right, which has been going on for almost two weeks now. I'm not a doctor, so I'm not trying to self-diagnose myself, but I did a lot of research and read a ton of forums and the thing that sounds closest to my problem and the symptoms I'm experiencing seems to be diverticulitis. Once again, not trying to self-diagnose, just providing details. I've had no blood in my stools and every once in a while I'll get occasional runny stools, but from what I understand blockage can create that effect. The best way to describe what I'm feel is It feels like a muscle is really tense, and trying to push for a bowel movement makes it worse. It feels like the muscle right above the colon area swells up. I have to be relaxed, I mean, really wait to have any sort of movement. No signs of infection or anything . . . Suggestions? My other question is could masturbation make it worse? I feel like it causes tension in that area.
