What Causes Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain And Leg Pain?
I have diarrhea and I threw up last night. My stomach hurts very badly, and I have intense shooting pains in both my legs. I get this leg pain rather often. What is wrong? Also, would be okay to take pain killers for this leg pain, or could I possibly just throw it up since I am sick?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since the is diarrhea and vomiting it will be bit difficult to retain the medications as these may be vomited out and hence I would advise you the following: Go to ER or nearby hospital for clinical evaluation, examination investigations of stool and blood particularly for electrolytes, CBC urea and creatinine to facilitate proper intravenous fluid and electrolyte replacement and injectable form of medicines for leg pain, pain in abdomen and vomiting for symptomatic relief. You will also need intravenous antibiotics to control the infection causing diarrhea and thus can be controlled well. Once the vomiting is controlled you can have oral medications, have detailed study for leg pains like ultrasonography and color doppler examination to know the diagnosis and get treated accordingly. If the symptoms are like sciatica then an MRI of the lower spine and proper management may be needed.
