What Causes Diarrhea Followed By Constipation?
I had been constipated for weeks with grey colored stools on and off. Then one night I had excruciating pain which was followed by explosive diarrhea 6 hours later. It s happened 2 times before, 5 months apart. Is it normal to be severely constipated and then have diarrhea?

This may be a case of irritable bowel syndrome due to which you will be having alternate episodes of constipation and diarrhea.
Or it may also be a parasitic infection due to which suffered from diarrhea.
Irritable bowel syndrome is seen nearly in 20% of the general population.
You need to undergo some medical investigations to know whether you have lactose intolerance or bile acid ma absorption or colitis or some infection.
