What Causes Diarrhea And Foul Smelling Flatulence After Taking Crestor?

Hi, I started 10mg of Crestor two weeks ago. After a week, I started having very loose stools and a lot of foul flatulance. Is there any thing I can do about this? I am female, 69 yrs. no other meds but many supplements. I take it at bedtime. I have a family history of heart disease and my cholesterol is 235 but my ratio is excellent, 2.7 Thanks

Hello,

I think you are experiencing severe Crestor gastrointestinal side effects. Should stop taking it and report this to your caring doctor.

Can try some natural alternatives to Crestor including supplements containing flaxseed oil, red yeast extract, plant sterols, etc.

Discuss this further with your caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
