What Causes Diarrhea After Taking Azithromycin?
my sister is taking azithromycin for what the docyor thinks is bronchitis which she has had for 2 weeks. she started taking the medicine - a 6 pack- Wednesday. Today she had a bout of diarrhea and cramping. and nausea and vomiting. coukd she be having a reaction to the drug.also her cough hasn t gotten any better. she went to ED and had chest xray. ctscan of abdomen and urine - which were all negative

The iarrhes following azithrimycin is due to disturbance of normal intestinal flora... this favour other pathogens supervene &cause gastric disturbance.
To manage apart from specific treatment(according to your doctor's advise ) ... rest ,light diet,plenty of water&replacement of lacto basilli is needful.
