What Causes Depression?

Hi doctor, I have been having what I will call systemic feelings of depression, like a weight is being imposed throughout my body giving me a wieghted feeling when I arise in the morning when it is more severe. I hike and it is still with me. It becomes less obvious in the evening. This has been going on for about a year. I have since rebalanced my thyroid with medication to bring it into normal range, but the feeling still persists. What do you thing I should do from here ?

Thanks for putting up your query. If I had similar patient I would have advised him to start with low dose antidepressant for symptoms like yours and also to continue thyroid medications in appropriate dose. Hope my answer was helpful for you.
