Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This has just started happening quite frequently. I will become depressed out of nowhere and start crying for no reason. I have not been diagonsed with any type of depression or bipolar disorder and with the way my life has been going there would be no reason at least that's how others would see it. I'm scared. and don't know what to do
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
Feeling depressed and crying often without reason could be indicative that you are developing a depressive disorder. You have mentioned that your life has been going on smoothly, but still you are feel depressed. Depression need not be always due to stress and difficulties in life. Certain neuro-chemical imbalances in the brain can affect a person's mood and result in depression.
It is good that you have been able to identify your problem early. Now, it is important that you seek professional help as early as possible. Earlier the intervention, better will be the outcome and quicker will be the recovery. So, I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist in your place for a detailed evaluation and further treatment. There are effective treatment options - in the form of medication and psychotherapy, which will help you overcome your problems.
Wish you all the best.
Regards, Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar Consultant Psychiatrist
