What Causes Delayed Periods With Implanon Removal History?
heelo, i had my impalnon removed early october 2012 after 5 months due to brown discharge, was expecting my period on 26th October and up to now (2nd November) havent received my period. i have not engaged in sexual activity since april 2012. what could be the cause of delayed period?
After removal of any hormone containing contraceptive device sometimes it may take some time for the regularization of the reproductive hormonal levels. During the period you can experience some amount of menstrual irregularity. Sometimes after removal of the hormonal device, it may take around 1 to 2 weeks to get the withdrawal bleeding. As there is no possibility of pregnancy, you can wait for one more week and possibly by the time you will get the withdrawal bleeding.
If you do not get withdrawal bleeding even after one week, please consult your gynecologist once, get examined and undergo an ultrasound. With this work up, the possible cause of your problem can be identified and you can take tablets to get the withdrawal bleeding with your doctor's advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
