What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Levonelle?
Hi i had sex about 9 days into my cycle and the condom broke. I took levonelle one step about 9 hours after. I am now 3 days late for my period but been having cramps usually at night time when i am going to bed, feeling very tired and a lot of breast tenderness. These symptoms have been on and off since i took the pill and have gotten worse within the last week. Im worried whether these are normal symptoms to show that my period is due or perhaps early pregnancy symptoms.

Hi, I have gone through your question. Levonelle one step is levonorgestrel which is taken within72 hours of unprotected intercourse for emergency contraception. It has a side effect of delayed next periods by 1-2 weeks. However, tender breasts, abdominal cramps,excessive lethargy can be present in early pregnancy.
I would suggest you to get a urine pregnancy test done and if positive, then do consult an OBGYN specialist for further management.
If it is negative, then you can wait for the period fornnext 1-2 weeks.
