What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Taking Duphaston?
Hi, I missed my period for two months. The last time I had sexual intercourse was late October. I have done two pregnancy tests and they were both negative. I am now taking Duphaston 10 mg for a week, twice a day. When should I expect my period to come? If it still didn t come after that, what is the cause? Thanks

The period would normally come three to five days after the medication is started.
The other causes of delayed periods, after pregnancy has been ruled out are: (1) emotional stress or illness
(2)physical illness
(3) thyroid disease
(4)high levels of the prolactin hormone
(6)polycystic ovarian syndrome
(7)excess physical activity
(8)inadequate diet
If your period does not come then you may need hormonal blood tests and imaging to determine if any of the above are present.
Treatment would depend on the cause found.
