What Causes Delay In Menstrual Cycle?

I have started swimming 2 months ago, I went for swimming wearing tampons during my periods last time but my periods got delayed by exact 1 month. Though I am taking high amount of protein daily i.e. Soy milk, dates, black raisins, almonds, fig, walnuts, sesame seeds, melon seeds, flax seeds, sprouts, green tea, cow milk, juice and meals are included in my daily diet. I do skipping, Yoga in the morning and swimming in the evening. But still I am wondering about the cause of my delayed periods. Please let me know whats wrong with me? I don t have any other health issues or ongoing medications.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You can go for a urine pregnancy test to check whether you are pregnant or not. Once the pregnancy has been ruled out, you can see a gynecologist and get evaluated to look for other causes like PCOS which can commonly cause irregular periods and delayed period.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
