What Causes Dark Colored Bruise On Foot With Cellulitis?

So I have cellulitis on my right foot & I ve had it already checked out at the doctors and they have prescribed me lots of medication. And I ve noticed that the red rash I had has been gone completely and now I have a darker colored grayish & purple like almost looks like a bruise. Is this normal?

Dear
Yes, it is normal to see the color changes as described by you. It is part of the healing process and will eventually disappear. This is because of the red blood cells that have leaked into the areas under skin and your body is disposing them off by releasing enzymes which change the color of blood.Rest assured, you are on way to recovery. Please revert if needed.
