Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I know abdominal pain can mean an array of ANYTHING, however, my specific question is this:
SOMETIMES before I have a bowel movement, I get really bad cramps low (above privates) and it's centered. Only sometimes. When you have colon or colorectal cancer, would a person have cramps a lot more than just maybe once/week or so? Would they have pain "every" time they have a bowel movement? Thank you.
Well come to HCM Thank for asking and appreciate your concern, abdomen pain prior to defecation could be nonspecific if not long last, if the symptom is persist then it could be sign of colitis (Ulcer), it is not due to cancer (In your case). If it is the case of malignancy then it may have lot of pain and other symptoms, it is all depends upon the type of malignancy an the stage of disease, but in your case it could be due to just a abdomen colic and it can be self limiting so need to worry about this, if the symptoms persist then it may requires investigation just to rule out the infection. hope this information helps.
