What Causes Coughing With Metallic Tasting Mouth?

Hi ... I have had a persistent cough now for 3 weeks. I went to the dr last Tueday and he said it's viral respiratory and to take a ventolin and prescription cough medicine. Today is Saturday and I am no better, if not getting worse. I am now soooo tired, have a metallic taste in my mouth, still coughing like a trooper and my head is going to explode! Please help me.

Hello,

I think you may be suffering from acute pharyngitis with sinusitis with viral bronchitis.

Headache may be due to sinusitis and metallic taste may be due to post nasal discharge or bleeding gums. So, use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

Avoid cool drinks, freeze water, and cold environment. Use tablet Alday DC twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
