General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Bloody sputum can come from common forms of infection in the lungs and airways, such as acute bronchitis or pneumonia
I suggest to do an x ray to confirm the diagnosis.
Meanwhile,I suggest giving Tylenol to relieve the symptoms.
I also suggest using a mucolytic such as Mucinex for the phlegm.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
