What Causes Coughing Up Blood With Heart Problem?
My 12 year old granddaughter began coughing up blood tonight and was taken to an emergency room and then taken by ambulance to Riley Children s Hospital. She has a heart condition (she only has two chambers). What could cause the coughing up of blood?

Your grand daughter is having congenital heart disease (CHD).
I these diseases, blood circulation in the body is hampered.
So fluid start accumulating in lower limbs, abdomen and in lung.
In lung this causes pulmonary edema.
This pulmonary edema causes sever coughing and breathlessness.
Due to this froathing (pink) appears along with blood.
So blood in cough is seen.
Treatment is entirely depending on correction of cardiac abnormality.
