What Causes Constipation And Bloating?

hi i am a 35 yr old male i do a phyisical job up until 8 days ago i used to eat twice a day but now eat breakfast and 2 large meals a day over the last week i have not been opening my bowels as much as i used to before today i feel bloated as though i have eaten a large meal also feel tired all the time and thirsty i try drinking but it makes my stomach hurt.

Hi,

Constipation and bloating might be interconnected, accumulation of stool in Colon and not able to pass it completely may cause bloating as intestinal bacteria produces the gas by fermentation to bowel content.

Another possibility for bloating could be Aerophagia (Swallowing of air), ill fitting denture, use of carbonated drinks, smoking and alcohol.In my opinion you should take anti acidity medicine like Pantoprazole or Ranitidine group of drugs with antacids for 4-5 days for bloating.

For constipation I would advise you to incorporate lots of fresh fruits and vegetables with dietary fiber supplement in your diet. Inculcate a habit to take a honey with a glass of lukewarm water in the morning after waking up. You can take laxatives like liquid Paraffin or Lactulose 30ml at bed time. If it doesn't work than you may require a bowel enema.
