What Causes Constipation After Having Daily Vitamin Powder?
I am using a daily vitamin powder that contains whey with 50 supplements to help me with chronic fatigue/Fibromyalgia. Also I have hypertension & diabetes which are controlled. Question is the whey causes constipation which has never been problematic. I eat plenty of green veggies and fruit daily. I also drink plenty of water -6-8 cups daily. What to do? I am 70 yrs old. (
In short: Constipation is very common in elderly and in diabetics
Explanation: Protein, antacid syrups and IRon/vitamin supplements can cause constipation. So, please take if these are required only. Or else take plenty offuids(preferably warm) with roughage for relief. For time being you can take Syrup lactulose/cremaffin 30 ml at bed time. I think you do not have any bowel obstruction as such, then only you can take this. OR else visit a doctor.
