What Causes Constipation After Having Metformin?

I just started taking metformin 2 1\2 weeks ago and have had one bowl movement. I'm currently on day 10 of no movement. Not even the feeling of being to go. Help. My doctor said the usual effect of my medication is loose stool and not really sure what's going on

Hello
First of all I want to tell you that your doctor is right , METFORMIN sometimes may develop loose motion but never produces constipation . As you mentioned that no movement within 10 days . So first of all get in soap water enema as it will evacuate the intestine and thereafter deal accordingly.
If you take laxative these will increase nausea and may produce vomiting . In such type of cases enema is the best option.
Take the help of nursing staff .
Good luck.
