i had a sinus like drainage that lasted a few days . then i felt like i was having trouble hearing esp on the phone then a few days later i had a loud ping in the ear and has followed by a constant ringing . i had 10 days of antiobiotics and still have that ringing ,but i can hear almost as well.

Common causes of tinnitus include the following: Fluid, infection, or disease of the middle ear bones or ear drum (tympanic membrane) Damage to the microscopic endings of the hearing nerve in the inner ear (advanced aging is generally accompanied by a certain amount of hearing nerve impairment) Loud noise exposure, such as loud noises from firearms, and highly intense music Medications (for example, aspirin) Meniere's syndrome In rare situations, tinnitus can be a symptom of serious problems such as a brain aneurysm or acoustic nerve tumor.
