What Causes Constant Headache And Swollen Ankle While Suffering From High Blood Pressure?

i have had high blood pressure for several years. i have controlled it through taking medication. Benicar 40mg with fluid pill combined 20mg i think. My doctor switched my medication to micardisHCT 80mg/25mg because the benicar didn't seem like it was controlling my blood pressure like it used to . i think i've been taking micardis for at least 3-5 months and it has done just fine until this past 2 weeks. last week my ankles became swollen and stayed like that for a couple days then back to normal. a few days ago they swelled up again and have stayed slightly swollen for three or four days now. I have felt a slight constant headache for the same three or four days. My blood pressure readings taken today at four different times and hours apart:
pulse
126/90 91 6:35am
123/81 105 1:30
124/88 114
119/86 90 7:15pm

I will call the doctor to get appt tomorrow but should i worry about it before then? should i be worried or get immediate attention? i don't need to go to an emergency room do i??

Cardiologist 's  Response
hi
Have you undergo echocardiography any tome, if not once you should undergo echo for evaluation of heart function. Edema occurs due to high blood pressure which creates high pressure over heart.
All your readings are absolutely normal and no urgency in seeking doctor.
Should consume low salt diet, regular exercises, avoid fatty, sugary diet and avoid smoking if any.
