What Causes Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis?

Hi, I have an appointment today to get my results after having an MRI scan of the gallbladder/liver. Previously, I was told they found a shadow on my liver. I get the results today and I'm so nervous. I suffer from a condition known as Congenital Heptaic Fibrosis.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Fibrosis is an irreversible condition, and it cannot revert back once fibrosis occurred. Symptomatic management can be done for that.

If the infection present, then antibiotics can be given. Portosystemic shunt would be helpful in this condition. Consult the gastroenterologist for examination and discuss management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
