What Causes Chronic Cough While Suffering From Blood Clots In The Lungs?

I was diagnosed with blood clots in my lungs last week in Rapid City, SD. I m on a blood thinner and have had a filter installed in my vena cava. I am now home (Albany, NY) trying to locate a pulmonologist with little luck. the earliest I can see someone is six weeks from now. My concern is that I still have an intermittent chronic cough and night sweats every night. Not much of a question, I know and there are stiil some MD s in WebMD to check out, but any advice you can give me? Thanks
