What Causes Chest Pain With Stabbing Sensation While Moving Neck?

for a while now my chest has been in pain with a sharp stabbing sensation when i move my neck and sometimes when i breathe in a full breath. The pain is mostly around the sternum on either side of the chest no matter where i turn my head. The pain isn t constant and is usually later in the after noon or early in the morning. What is the cause?

Thanks for your question on HCM. It seems mostly musculoskeletal pain. But as a rule in chest pain,we have to rule out cardiac and pulmonary causes first.
So better to get done
1. ECG for cardiac causes.
2. Chest x ray for pulmonary causes.
If both of the above are normal than your pain must be of musculoskeletal origin.
So take good painkillers and muscle relaxant. Avoid weight lifting and movements causing pain.
Apply warm water at the site pain.
