What Causes Chest Area Angina, Palpitations, Breathlessness With Syncope Feelings, Arm Pain?

Hello Doctor, I recently have had problems with my chest area with angina. I have had an ongoing problem with occasional pause in heartbeat usually causing a little loss of breath. As of about a week ago, I had one hit me and it felt as if I wasn t getting enough oxygen and as if I was going to pass out, Then about five days later I had another one with same feelings except now I had a sharp heart pain. I went to er and was admitted with ekg showing norm rhythm. I was given bp meds and watched overnight with telemetry. prescribed bp meds and cholesterol meds. The angina and frequent feelings of not enough oxygen continued. The very next day, with continuing symptoms, I also had pain in left arm start so back to er. everything happened same way again with all normal and was released with a Lasix script. Symptoms continue though. have noticed increase in burping even w/o food. help plz.

Pain Medicine & Palliative Care Specialist 's  Response
hi
your problem can be totally cardiac related
i suggest you to go for a complete cardiac evaluation, with threadmill or dobutamine stress echo, angiogram to rule out for microvascular anginal changes,2d-echo, chest x-ray
diuretics like lasix (frusemide ) are very helpful in these conditions by reducing the load on the heart,
your pain will also be aggravated with full stomach conditions relatively due to esophageal induced coronary vasospasm as you already have gastritis.
all of best
take care.
