Hello!
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.com
I read carefully your question and understand your concern.
I think you child may have Hodgkin's lymphoma.
It is a cancer of the lymphatic tissue. This tissue is found in lymph nodes, spleen, liver,
bone marrow and other sites.
The cause of Hodgkin's lymphoma is unknown. It is more common among people 15 to 35 and 50 to 70 years of age.
The doctor will perform a physical examination and will check areas of the body where there are lymph nodes to check for inflammation.
Usually, the disease can be diagnosed after a suspicious tissue biopsy, usually a
lymph node biopsy.
Treatment depends on the following:
The type of
Hodgkin lymphoma (there are different forms of Hodgkin lymphoma).
The stage (as far as the disease has spread).
If the tumor is more than 4 inches (10 centimeters) wide.
Your age and other medical issues.
Other factors, such as
weight loss,
night sweats and fever.
They can do
chemotherapy, radiation therapy or both. The doctor will give you more information about the specific treatment for you.
High dose chemotherapy can be given when Hodgkin lymphoma reappears after treatment or does not respond to the first treatment. This procedure is followed by an autologous
stem cell transplant that uses its own stem cells.
Kind regards,
Dr. Oscar Martinez
