What Causes Burning, itching And White Discharge In Vagina?

Hi, I am a diabetic patient and I had an abortion week ago. Rite after the abortion I started to get some white discharge. Now it s not too much bt I have itching and burning a lot. Another thing is that cuz of some family issues wth abortion I could take my antibiotics on time after abortion. So I m worried if I m having any kind of infection or what. My body don t feel rite I have got herpes too on my lips. So please tell me if I should go to the doctor for my itching and burning or its normal?

Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

If I was your treating physician I would perform a vaginal swab culture and urine culture first of all to reach the confirm diagnosis and its type.....it may be either of three ( bacterial, fungal or trichomoniasis).
then my treatment plan would be according to the culture reports.
Most commonly it is fungal.... vaginal candidiasis and for that I would recommend an oral course of tab. Fluconazole once daily or vaginal clotrimazole cream.
I would strongly recommend that you consult a gynecologist for this problem as this medicine can have side effects and the dosage has to be monitored carefully.

Meanwhile take extra care of hygiene of genital area, wear cotton undergarments and frequents changing of tampons.

I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing you good health.
