I am a 72 year old female..Mammogram was normal. For the last month or so my left nipple has a burning pain now it is going into the rest of my breast like in the milk ducts or nerves, at times it is in the right breast as well. I don t feel any thing with self exam.. Who should I see?
Youe pain seems to be non-cyclical and limited to one breast. Burning pain is usually due to some benign cause and is mostly conditions like fibroadenoma. If a self-examination has not picked anything up, then wait for a week or so and report for an ultrasound of the breast region. A cyst or fibroadenoma will most probably be the cause for your presentation.
In the meantime, you can take mild analgesics to help rid you of the pain.
Best wishes.
