What Causes Burning Pain In Neck, Shoulders, Back And Chest After Injury?

I collided with a guy in ball last night. I did have a helmet on but was sent flying and landed on my back and hurt a crunch sound in my neck and had the wind knocked out of me. Today my neck(right up to base of my skull), shoulders, back and chest are burning and have limited motion in my neck. Ice and advil are not enough. How should I treat it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the injury. I suggest to do a neck X-ray to check better the condition of your neck. Meanwhile, I suggest to avoid motions that can trigger the pain. I also recommend to continue using Advil and cold compresses for local application.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
