What Causes Burning In The Upper Abdomen And Lower Food Pipe?

Since last six moths i have burn in the opening part of my stomach as well as in the lower food pipe. While taking my meals I feel as if the food gets into my stomach after striking something. I consulted a Dr. and he said that it is severe acidity and recommended cap. Domisec, Tab Librax and a syrup Prodigest. So long I take this medicine I feel perfectly alright but after two three days the same problem occurs. I would like to tell u that I smoke atleast 10/12 cigrettes a day. Though I am a pure vegetarian and take excercises daily still the problem occurs. Kindly tell me that is it something serious or can be cured?

this is not a serious condition sir, but certainly you need to deal with it, I will advise you to go for Upper GI endoscopy, condition like GERD , hiatus hernia , weakness of lower esophagus sphincter and even acid peptic disease and smoking can lead to such symptoms . All the above mention are treatable condition. early the diagnos early managment , permanent relief. You can take Rantadine, Proton pump inhibitor and sucrafil-o can be very help full, plus cessation of smoking. hope this helps.
