What Causes Bumps On The Tongue?

I got laryngitis two weeks ago, and also a bacterial infection in my eye. My doctor gave me eye drops and pills for my throat. The eye infection went away within a few days, and my throat was feeling way better too! I only finished half of my throat pills, which was not very smart. Last monday I woke up with a severe sore throat. I could hardly swallow. I then started to get swollen, inflamed gums. I went to student health, and a doctor there prescribed me Clindamycin HCL. My sore throat is gone, but I still have really painful sores on my swollen gums, and a few weird bumps on my tongue. It s hurts when any kind of food touches my gums, or even my tongue. I am still taking the pills. I got them on friday and have been taking two, three times a day since then.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The bumps over the tongue and the soreness over the gums can be secondary to herpetic gingivostomatitis, it is a self limiting condition. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. For the soreness you can use topical analgesics like choline salicylate and topical analgesics like lignocaine. Do saline gargling.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
