What Causes Bruising On The Hip Bone And Pain In The Navel?

Hello, I am a 39 year old male. About 6 days ago I noticed a faint bruise on my lower left flank just above the hip bone. The bruise seems to be getting bigger slowly and is getting darker with deep reds within the bruise. My whole left flank, from my belly button to my back hurts. It is not excruciating, but is becoming more uncomfortable. Over this time I have been gaining around a pound a day. There has been no change in urination or BMs. I have not been running a fever, but have felt really fatigued and irritable. I have noticed when doing anything physical my breathing becomes labored, which is not common for me.

Hi,

In my opinion, you should definitely consult an orthopaedic doctor and get done a clinical examination and MRI of the hip joint to rule out internal pathology.

For laboured breathing, get done chest X-ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). If all these are normal then no need to worry much.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
