What Causes Brownish Vaginal Discharge Along With Intermenstrual Bleeding?

I am 53 years old and haven t had an actual period in over a year. I do have spotting however, sometimes more like in between period spotting but more frequently I get this random brown stringy discharge. Everything can be completely normal and then I urinate and there is a brown string substance on the toilet paper. No odors at all, no pain at all. Is there anything I can to to get it to stop?

Hi,
I understand your query.
The stringy discharge ( spotting)you have may be after intercourse /might be out of menopausal changes-- still I would suggest you to get examined/ investigated the earliest to exclude - Polyps/Endometral atrophy/ endometrial hyperplasia.Early detection & treatment is always good.
For at this age it is always better to be careful to avoid/ prevent any untoward sign & lead a happy life.
Thanks.
