Hello, Thank you for your query. Brown spotting can be a normal occurrence before a period arrives. However spotting when period is not expected is not normal and needs to be investigated. I recommend : -an OBGYN consult -a pregnancy test if sexually active. -an ultrasound pelvis to look for ovarian cysts, fibroid. -blood tests (estrogen levels). Based on the findings of above tests, a treatment plan will be initiated. Avoid Intercourse, doubling, tampons till we find out what is happening.
