What Causes Brownish Discharge During Menstruation?
I started my period Friday and it was a normal flow but different because I did not cramp as much as I usually do. my second and third day I had brown spotting. and now on my 4th day Im not seeing anything except for light pink when I wipe. What could it be?
It seems that this time your menstrual discharge is low. In fact the discharge is actively thrown out of the uterus on the first day and later the collected discharge is passing passively.
When the blood stays inside the uterus for some time, it becomes stale blood and hence becomes brownish in color. That is what has happened in your case. You had less pain means that the uterus has not contracted very strongly and thus the blood is coming out slowly. I do not feel there is any issue for concern. Sometimes, little variation is there in the mense - flow, period and pain may take place.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
