What Causes Brownish Discharge After Medical Abortion?
hi doc, i m 27 yrs old, i have baby girl 14 months old. i had medical abortion with mifeprostone 200 mg three tablets once in morning empty stomch and third day 3 tablets of misoprostal 200 mcg after 3-3 hours. firstly i was on heavy bleeding and pass 3-4 clots after 10 days i stopped bleeding completely and now i have brownish discharge is it normal? what is the reason for the brownish discharge?

Bleeding will stop 7-10 days after using abortion pills. But brownish discharge suggests that is old blood coming out from uterus. Following are the causes: incomplete abortion/retain products, ectopic pregnancy. You should consult the gynecologist and get the blood HCG and USG to confirm pregnancy in failure of abortion, retain product of abortion and molar pregnancy.
Incomplete abortion should be treated by the surgery.
