What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge And Lower Abdominal Pain?

I had a hysterectomy in May of this year. Today I noticed dark brown blood in my panties. I have been feeling mild cramping as well. Prior to my hysterectomy, I had a Vaginal ultrasound and the tech states that I may have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. My doctor commented as well that I may have it. But never said much else. I have recently again been having lower abdominal pain and now I have seen this blood. I am nervous due to my maternal aunt and paternal grandmother both died of metastatic breast cancer. My mother is in remission from cervical/uterine cancer of 13 years. My cervix and uterus were removed during my hysterectomy. How is it that the ovaries remain in place if they ARE attached to the uterus? I know I am probably all over the place but I am very worried.

get an ultrasound done as this can confirm if actually your ovaries have been removed or not, also use a betadine vaginal suppository as it can reduce infection
