What Causes Brown Spotting And White Discharge Instead Of Regular Periods?

Hi. I am 21 years old. I have missed my period and now after a moth just before my second date after the skipped period, I m experiencing brownish spotting for 2 days with normal whitish discharge and now that whitish discharge is continuing with spotting. Please suggest if its something abnormal and any issues are there?

Hello, thanks for writing in.
Yes, missing a period followed by altered discharge must be looked into.
With regular periods in the past, a hormonal imbalance now maybe the cause.
If you have been sexually active in the last month, I would suggest you take a home pregnancy test first.

You must also consult a gynecologist who can examine you, and suggest a workup for hormones, thyroid and a pelvic ultrasound.
Do not worry.
Do write in again for any further clarifications.
Take care.
