What Causes Brown Discharge?

I had a medical abortion 10 days ago because my baby had anecephaly :( I am now getting thick brown discharge, I don't know if this is normal? I did have sex yesterday. I feel fine. I have no pains or anything. Just a bit worried about the discharge.

Hello,
Old bleeding is usually altered in color and perhaps this is what is being shed. If the completion of the abortion was confirmed through a follow up sonogram, then this discharge is probably due to some breakthrough. Hormone supplements usually tide over this problem. It is ideal to avoid intercourse for two weeks after the abortion to let the soft parts heal. Please have a check up with a specialist if the discharge does not subside or if you did not have a follow up. Please maintain genital hygiene. Hope this helps.
