What Causes Bronchopneumonia In The Right Lung And Cough?

Hi I had an endoscope 5 weeks ago and becme very unwell after it with a high temp and cough then two weeks ago I was diagnosed with Bronchopnuemonia in my right lungI was given two antibiotics which I finished last week and steroids which finished yesterday. The cough finally stopped last week but I have a really bad pain in the top on my ribs on the left side and I got a cramp in my right ribs last night ... is this normal after all the coughing or should I be worried? Thank you

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
There are two possibilities in your case.
1. Pain can be due to spread of pneumonia in left side.
2. Coughing can itself cause musculoskeletal pain.
So better to get done repeat chest x ray.
If chest x ray is normal or resolving for bronchopneumonia then you are mostly having musculoskeletal pain due to coughing.
But if x ray is suggestive of worsening of pneumonia or new lesions then you may need antibiotic again.
So consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray to rule out worsening of pneumonia.
