My 10 year old son was in a wrestling match on saturday and his opponent's elbow struck his eye! He did not inform me but says that his vision is blurry for far things! Not close! I called my opthamologist today but he did not return my call! Is this something that I need to worry about?
Hello It seems from the history that your son had a injury to eye in a wrestling match and following it he is having blurred vision for distance. This can be because of injury resulting in myopia because of ciliary spasm, corneal injury or retinal edema because of injury. Since he has got diminution of vision only for distance this can be because of myopia caused by ciliary spasm. This can be treated by use if cycloplegic eye drops. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
