What Causes Bloodshot Eyes After Smelling Fresh Paint?
Everytime I am around fresh paint, or walk past a garage painting a car, or if I smell tar in the air, my eyes get bloodshot red. My eye doctor said its alergies and gives me drops for the swelling but it does not take the redness away and sometimes I lose days from work. It doesn't burn, it just feel like I can feel the sweeling and it's uncomfortable

Probably its true and you have ALLERGY to the fumes!!. And any precipitating factor causing allergy called as ALLERGEN has to be avoided.
