What Causes Blood In Urine While Suffering From Kidney Stones?
I had a good amount of blood in my urine & went to hospital the other day. I have a kidney stone for years which is too large to move but they saw a spot in cat scan on my pancreS & want me to follow up with a gastro. Dr & urologist what is the spot on pancreas??
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Kidney stones are one potential cause of hematuria (blood in urine) since large stone irritate either the lining of kidney or the ureter causing injury to local cells and capillaries but one should exclude other possibilities after consulting a urologist like urinary tract infections, bladder stones, kidney disease (glomerulonephritis), or malignancy which can be excluded either by performing urine culture, CT scan of ureter or kidney, and cystoscopy.
Spots visible on pancreas in CT scan could be pancreatic cyst which could either be true cysts or pseudocysts (inflammatory) but require an expert opinion to verify the same or something else.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Munish Sood
