What Causes Blood In The Stool After The Colon Removed?

My brother is in the er right now. He is a stage iv colon cancer patient. He has 2 clolstomy bags as a result from a surgery he had last year. He had his bladder, prostate, colon removed. He has had blood in his stool for the past 2 days. Can you give me a few different reason as why this could be happening.

hi. blood in stools can be due to the recurrence of disease, as a side effect of chemotherapy, as a result of few medications or other diseases of intestine. we need more information to help you. better idea is to see an oncologist for treatment.
